In the first half of 2022, the EU RAPEX initiated 1,103 notifications, and a total of 25 countries issued 550 notifications for products whose country of origin is China, accounting for about 50% of the total number of notifications (see Figure 1). The top eight countries in terms of number of notifications are Poland, Hungary, Germany, Romania, Lithuania, France, Ireland and Sweden(see Figure 2). Compared with the first half of 2021, the total number of notifications in China has increased (see Figure 3).

Figure 4 The proportion of China’s notification from January to June 2022
From Figure 4, it is not difficult to find that the proportion of the total number of notifications in the first half of the year is still high, so we still cannot relax our vigilance.
The types of product notification mainly involve toys, motor vehicles, clothing, textiles and fashion categories, jewelry, and electrical equipment, among which toys are still the key notification products (see Figure 5). The primary types of hazards involved in product notification are chemical hazards and injuries, followed by suffocation, electric shock, fire, and environmental hazards. Therefore, physical and mechanical safety and hazardous material hazards need to be controlled (see Figure 6).
